In addition, the insulation is high-quality and the underfloor heating can be regulated per zone. Everything is new, so you don’t have to worry about maintenance for some time. Location

Cornelis is surprisingly centrally located. You can cycle to the Vondelpark and the Rembrandtplein in just 5 minutes, take public transport to Leidseplein in just 14 minutes or arrive at the depature hall of Schiphol within 10 minutes. Did you know that more than 5,640 m³ of soil has been excavated and approximately 57,000 m³ of groundwater has been pumped just to prepare the building land? And that 166 piles have now been installed and more than 270,000 kilos of concrete reinforcement have been processed? In total there will be approximately 200,000 facing bricks on the facade. Cornelis’ foundation is rock solid. The tunnel formwork on the first floor will start in November and from then on we will continue to move up one floor. And we are expected to reach the highest point of Cornelis around May 2024.

Sneak preview

On Thursday, September 21th, you are welcome between 5 and 7:30 PM for an exclusive visit to the Cornelis construction site. On this special occasion we open the doors of the construction site to buyers and interested parties. Next to our real estate agents, developers and construction team, the architects will  be present. An excellent opportunity to speak to them directly, get a feel for the atmosphere of the project and possibly even get to know your future neighbors.

Construction in full swing

There may not be much to see yet, but before Cornelis can go up, the foundation must be ready. All foundation piles have now been installed in the ground and the builder has started closing the construction pit all around with the so-called sheet piles. Once the sheet piles have been placed completely around the cellar, a ‘large container’ is created, which can be excavated for the actual foundation work. These are expected to start in early March. Impressions Schielandplein

Schielandplein will be realized by the municipality. The designers of the public space have made a beautiful plan to create a pleasant and lively neighborhood square for residents, employees, visitors and passers-by. The low-traffic neighborhood square will accommodate, among other things, a terrace of the catering facility in Cornelis, but also a multi-trunk tree as a special green accent. The ambition is to make it a nice and safe place where people can sit down, meet others or play.

Construction has started

The first pile of the Cornelis residential building has been installed. That was reason for a party with the buyers, urban district manager Sandra Doevendans, the architects and the team behind Cornelis. It is expected that the buyers will be able to enjoy their home and all the extra living space at the beginning of 2025.

Construction will soon start

Nearly 70% of the apartments in Cornelis have been sold. The prognosis is that the construction can start this September. Very good news, especially now  more and more construction projects in the country are being canceled or shut down. The expected delivery of Cornelis is early 2025. New layout

During the past weeks, we were often asked whether the layout of Type A2 could be adjusted slightly. There was a need for a larger master bedroom and a more spacious bathroom. We immediately got to work and we are happy to share the new layout with you. By enlarging the bedroom and bathroom, the storage room has also become more spacious. There are still a few apartments of this type available.

With summer approaching, we are living more outdoors again. The sun shines more often and everything is in bloom. In and around Cornelis you will enjoy this to the fullest.
